Wheatstone’s NAB 2007 Showcase Offers New Innovations in Audio Mixing, Processing, and Networking

LAS VEGAS, NV (April 16, 2007)– WHEATSTONE Wheatstone Corporation unveiled products that represent the manufacturer’s new, targeted range of cost-effective broadcast equipment for the radio and television industries.

The Evolution System

The E-series Surfaces, the E-SAT and the E-NET switch combine to achieve a cost-effective networked audio system. Studios equipped with the new Evolution 5 and Evolution 6 control surfaces can operate independently yet share all sources and mixes through the E-NET—without traffic limitations, audio latency, or machine control delays. The Evolution 5 offers event recall, bus-minus, four mix-minus, four monitor outputs, panning, realtime graphic displays and password-protected set up screens.

The Evolution 6 features include: event recall, bus-minus, four mix-minus and four aux mixes, four monitor outputs and standard EQ, dynamics, panning and mic processing on all channels (simultaneously), realtime graphic displays, production tools and password-protected set up screens.

Based on the WheatNET architecture, the E-NET has up to 16 ports using RJ-45, which can connect multiple E-Series systems at one central point. The E-NET is packaged in a 1 RU enclosure to save valuable rack space. The E-Series devices can also integrate with larger Wheatstone Bridge systems that use XPoint software.

The SAT-E is a scaled down version of the popular Wheatstone Bridge SAT. The I/O cards can be digital or analog with 4 stereo (8 mono) inputs or outputs on each. There is an available DSP engine that functions as the processing card for the addition of an E-Series surface to any SAT-E frame.

If more then 16x16 stereo I/O is required, an additional frame may be added for a 32x32 stereo (64x64 mono) I/O configuration. The SAT-E can house 2 GPI cards for up to 24 GPI logic ports per frame. Another addition to the Evolution Series is the GLASS-E Console, a software application that is installed on a standard Windows XP PC which allows the user to control any Evolution control surface from a remote location through a LAN or WAN. The GLASS- E graphically replicates the associated control surface with the IP address to which it is appointed. All functions and features can be controlled or accessed through the GUI interface: On/Off, fader level, buss assign, programmable buttons, surface presets, source changes and system configurations through defined passwords.

Microsat Audio & Control Frame

The MICROSAT MCS-8 is a 1 RU extension frame for the Bridge or Evolution Digital Audio Network product lines. This single rack mount frame accepts two 4 stereo channel input cards and two 4 stereo outputs cards, (8x8 stereo, 16x16 mono) in any configuration of analog or digital. The MICROSAT also contains 6 universal GPI logic ports for machine control or third party interface. Features include: RJ- 45 (CAT 5) connection to Wheatstone Bridge or Evolution Networks, up to 2 inputs cards and 2 output cards (16x16 signals) and 6 bi-directional logic ports, all in a 1 RU space.

WIREZE Interconnect System

The WIREZE system from Wheatstone terminates field wiring by using WIREZE rack mount panels. Each single RU panel is available in flush or recessed mounting and is loaded with industry standard audio connections on the front. The rear of the unit has the appropriate number of DB-25F connectors ready to terminate to your Wheatstone or Audioarts equipment. They are available with 8 XLR-M, 8 XLR-F, 8 RJ45-F, 16 RJ45-M, 16 RCA-F, and Phoenix connectors.

Audioarts Air-2+ Radio Console

The new Audioarts Air-2+ Radio Console is designed for small market stations such as college radio and worships facilities that are seeking high-end features at a lower price point. Features include:

Phone Channel with TB, 2 Stereo Busses, and Separate Control Room / Studio Monitoring.
