| Altitude Sports & Entertainment and Crown Media Intl choose VCI for Sales and Traffic Operation Springfield, MA July 28, 2004: Denver-based regional sports network Altitude Sports & Entertainment (Altitude) today announced the selection of VCI (Video Communications Inc.) and its flagship product, STARS II+™, as their key business operations system. Altitude is a division of Kroenke Sports Enterprises and is scheduled to launch in September 2004 with programming from the Colorado Avalanche, Denver Nuggets, Colorado Mammoth, Colorado Rapids, Colorado Springs Sky Sox, Colorado Eagles, Big Sky Conference and Air Force Academy, as well as other local and regional sports and entertainment programming. "In VCI, we found a company that has a modern product, financial stability and a proven track record of innovation and responsiveness to customers", said Matt Hutchings, Executive Vice President and COO for Altitude. "Our customers and clients will be getting exciting programming and sales opportunities and STARS II+ gives us the business system we need to provide that in the most effective manner." "Their recognition of the flexibility and ease-of-use of STARS II+ and of the strength and experience of our staff and company is very gratifying. We look forward to working with them and to their success." The new network will be handled out of the Crown Media International (CMI) Network Operations Center (NOC) in Greenwood Village, Colorado. Currently, the NOC is the service provider for the Hallmark Channel in 26 languages and 116 countries on four continents and the Hallmark Movie Channel. “The VCI product is a flexible, open architecture platform that allows easy integration into other enterprise systems, enabling us to provide fully-integrated, end-to-end service to Altitude,” stated Richard Buchanan, SVP of Operations and Business Development for Crown Media International, LLC. “We look forward to working with VCI on this launch.” VCI will be providing a full, 2-way, automation interface with CMI's automations systems, including frame-accurate program timings which will be pulled in from the Storer SIMS system that Altitude will also be installing. |
