Grass Valley Turbo iDDR Wins 2006 InfoComm AV Excellence Award
The Grass Valley Turbo™ iDDR (Intelligent Digital Disk Recorder) has been named by the InfoComm association as the best video broadcaster/best video streaming product introduced in 2005, in the area of Rental & Staging technology.
Representing a resounding success for Thomson and its Grass Valley business, since its introduction at last year's InfoComm conference, the Turbo iDDR has found a home in more than 550 installations worldwide, including a variety of live event companies and fixed media facilities that are reducing their reliance on videotape for A/V presentations.
The Turbo iDDR is a new class of VTR replacement that leverages the digital storage, networking, and media-management capabilities of Grass Valley’s Emmy® award-winning Profile® video servers.
The Turbo iDDR was shown at InfoComm this year (in exhibit booth 1640) with the new IT-centric Grass Valley REV PRO media drive built-in. The Turbo iDDR is an integral part of Grass Valley’s Professional video workflow line of products. Its ability to be controlled by the new Grass Valley Indigo™ AV Mixer makes an ideal solution for a total Pro AV presentation system.
The 2006 InfoComm AV Excellence Awards were presented at a gala Awards Banquet on June 6th at the Orange County Convention Center.
