 | Visit Smart Av At Frankfurt Musik Messe
SYDNEY, Australia -- Feb. 15, 2005 -- Smart AV
presents its top-of-the-range Smart Console, the Elite E96, for the first time in Germany at this year’s Frankfurt Musik Messe at stand D47, hall 5.0, 6-9 April. Smart AV has created a new breed of console that sets a new standard of ergonomic efficiency associated with mixing and editing large numbers of channels. The technology will appeal to recording studios, film-dubbing stages, post-production environments, and live sound.
The 96-channel console features a physical arc that spans the console within easy reach of the operator. Fitted with touch sensors, it allows easy and intuitive access to any channel. With a simple touch to the strip, the desired channel and the channels surrounding it immediately appear at the operator’s fingertips, as though the operator had instantaneously moved in front of those channels on a traditional long console. With this single touch, as many as 800 previously out-of-reach controls are conveniently placed within the operator’s reach. As a further aid, the handwritten channel descriptions are electronically transferred to the strips in front of the operator. Ergonomic studies reveal that the ARC design delivers a fivefold improvement in ergonomic efficiency.
The Smart Console is a control surface that can be configured via an open protocol over Ethernet with a growing range of signal processing engines. The E96 console is configured at the Musik Messe with an Apple Logic Pro 7™ engine. Other engines that can be interfaced include the VADIS System™ from KLOTZ DIGITAL, the Pyramix Virtual Studio™ from Merging Technology, the DME64N™ and DME24N™ from Yamaha, and Series 5 engines from SADiE including PCM-H64.
A smaller configuration of the Smart Console, the E48, can be found on the Atlantic Audio stand K65 in hall 8.0. There the console will be configured for the first time to control a MediaMatrix system from U.S. manufacturer Peavey Electronics Corp. of Meridian, Miss.
