| Sigma Electronics Names Carl Gardner General Manager of U.S. Sales Operations East Petersburg, PA, Tuesday, August 3, 2004 - Sigma Electronics Inc announced today that Carl Gardner has been named general manager of U.S. sales operations. The announcement was made by Bill Swilley, president and chief executive officer of Sigma Electronics Inc., and is effective immediately. Gardner will manage the company's sales and support staff from offices in Salt Lake City, Utah. "I'm pleased to welcome Carl Gardner to the Sigma family," said Swilley. "Carl's breadth of experience plus a stellar career with many of the nation's top broadcast technology or broadcast-related companies, makes him the ideal candidate for this position in our rapidly expanding company." Previous to joining Sigma, Gardner was manager of channel partners, western region/Regional Sales Manager for Snell & Wilcox, covering a 16-state area. As vice president and general manager of Vela Corporation, Gardner managed the company's direct sales force, product management and technical service departments. He also recruited and managed a new-sales force to cover both direct sales and distribution channels. At Utah Scientific Division, a division of Artel Video Systems, Gardner was responsible for all marketing functions including product management, advertising, exhibits and order administration. He also held sales and management posts at Dynatech Video Group (manager, distribution channels and large projects/systems), and Philips Broadcast Television Systems, Inc.
