MultiDyne’s HD-3000 **3Gb/s Fiber Optic Transport Link

LOCUST VALLEY, NY – Multidyne Video & Fiber Optic Systems, a leading provider of Fiber Optics for the transport of video and audio for broadcast & Pro A/V applications, today announced that its new HD-3000 3Gb/s fiber optic transport solution features the Gennum 3Gb/s video optical module.

The Gennum 3Gb/s video optical solution used in MultiDyne’s HD-3000 Series 3Gb/s Serial Digital Video Fiber Optic Transport Link supports the new 1080p progressive 3Gb/s high-definition format, and enables the HD-3000 to ease the engineering and financial difficulties associated with the migration to digital and high-definition television.

“Customers want to ensure that their infrastructure is future proof and they insist on products that are 3Gb/s-ready,” said Bob McAlpine, vice president of global sales and business development. “Gennum’s 3Gb/s optical components enable our fiber transport products to provide an economical migration solution for broadcasters.”

“In keeping with Gennum’s strategy of providing complete solutions for the 3Gb/s SDI market, we were able to provide MultiDyne with a suite of components, which simplified their design process and ensured interoperability and full design support,” said Gary Beauchamp, senior vice president and general manager of Optical Products, Gennum Corporation. “By working together to leverage Gennum’s expertise in SDI video transport, we were able to meet the needs of a long-time customer with a video optical module solution that was capable of supporting 3Gb/s.”

MultiDyne’s HD-3000 series provides an economical solution for the fiber optic transport and distribution of virtually any digital signal from 5 Mb/s to 3 Gb/s. Available in compact stand-alone and rack-mount packages, the HD-3000 is ideal for applications including field remotes, sporting events, ENG/SNG, production and in-plant signal distribution.
