Logitek Debuts New Digital Console

Houston, Texas – Logitek Electronic Systems,Inc. has announced the introduction of its Mosaic series of digital consoles. Mosaic consoles use a series of drop-in modules that permit users to purchase console configurations that exactly meet their needs. As with other Logitek digital consoles, Mosaic consoles are router-based, acting as control surfaces for the Logitek Audio Engine.

“The Mosaic line was designed based on extensive customer input,” said Tag Borland, Logitek president. “Each module has been developed for maximum flexibility, placing the most commonly requested functions at the user’s fingertips.” Features in the Mosaic console include:

* Multiple frame sizes, allowing configuration of consoles ranging from 4 to 24 faders * Multiple full color LCD screens - at least one screen on each module, giving users meters, clocks, timers, delay information, text from the Audio Engine, downloaded bitmaps, etc. * Ability to change the color on some console buttons’ backlighting, allowing users to assign specific colors different meanings * More controls than were available in previous consoles, giving users single-button access to multiple functions * Support for 16-character source names, providing more information on sources at faders and meters (requires C6 controller card in Audio Engine) * Additional GPI / GPO control for external equipment

Mosaic configurations range from 4 to 24 faders, with a variety of control and softkey modules also available. Modules include:

Fader Module – composed of two Penny & Giles® faders with color-changeable ON/OFF switches; full color LCD screen that indicates input, effects and metering for each fader; talkback and CUE switches; multi-use function controls which permit input selection as well as access to bus assignments, input assignments, EQ, dynamics, etc.; direct access to 5 mix busses (with additional busses readily available), and an input selector switch.

Monitor module – includes headphone and monitor speaker gain controls as well as input / gain controls for guest headphones or an auxiliary studio’s monitor; two 5-button input selectors; headphone mix controls; monitor dim and mute switches; full color LCD screen which shows input source information; cue and talkback gain controls and input selection controls. Also included is a “Last” button which will restore the last source selection or will toggle between two sources.

Softkey modules – available in narrow and wide slot configurations, the softkey modules each provide 12 programmable buttons with red lighting offering 16 brightness levels. The narrow module has 6 additional buttons with yellow lighting; the wide module incorporates an additional 18 buttons with yellow lighting and 3 with red lighting. The wide softkey module also includes timer controls as well as two full color LCD screens that can display a variety of items including meters, clocks/timers, delay information, text sent from the Audio Engine or downloaded bitmaps.

Also available are narrow and wide Meter Bridges that include program metering plus LCD screens that display clocks/timers, meters, delay information, text from the Audio Engine or downloaded bitmaps. The narrow meter bridge provides one main meter and two full color LCD screens; the wide meter bridge includes one main meter plus six full color LCD screens.

Availability and pricing:

Logitek Mosaic consoles are now available in standard and UK versions. The company has begun shipping the product and is accepting new orders. Pricing of a Mosaic console ranges from $5,500 to $20,000 not including the Audio Engine.
