Four LV5800 Options Being Introduced By Leader

a. LV58SER01 SDllnput; Option 01

The LV58SER01 Option is essential for operating the LV5800 Multi-Monitor Platform and Leader offers this as a "default" option for all L V5800 based systems.

Two, auto-detecting inputs make the instrument compliant with modern SO-SOl and HO-SOI signals (SMPTE 259M, SMPTE 274M, SMPTE 292M, and SMPTE 296M standards). As well, the instrument can monitor Dual Link (SMPTE 372M) and it is capable of testing over 20 HO-SOI and SO-SOl formats with total digital processing. Automatic detection senses input format, colorimetry and black burst or tri-Ievel external reference input.

Extensive monitoring functions include waveform (YCbCr, YRGB, YGBR, GBR or RGB), vector (75% or 100% electronic graticule), 5-Bars, picture (with closed caption) and surround sound monitoring. Observations are presented with the 1024 x 768 XGA TFT clarity of the LV5800 Platform. The LV5800, when equipped with the SOl Input option (LV58SER01) accepts two SO & HO-SOI inputs; loop-throughs provided. A second option can be installed allowing for the simultaneous monitoring of up to four sources.

Parade, overlay and timing modes facilitate characterization of component waveform levels and timing. Freeze mode allows comparisons of different SOl input signals. Thumbnail picture display can be selected with other multi-display operating modes for easy source identification.

Digital audio from SO or HO groups (1 & 2) or (3 & 4) is displayed as 3:1, 3:2, and 3:2:2 surround images, multi-lissajous and 8-Ch bargraphs. The bargraphs have selectable dynamic ranges and peak or average display ballistics. Remapping of the assignable channel order as required allows users to create custom displays. Disembedded AES/EBU and analog monitoring output is available by using the L V58SER40 AES/EBU Input/Output Option.

Extensive signal status, ANC data monitoring, error monitoring and detection facilities, digital line-select, precision digital cursors, menu control of storage of 50 front-panel setups, USB with jump-drive capabilities and Ethernet access round out the operating features.

b. LV58SER02 Eye Pattern. Option 02

Physical layer testing is easily accomplished with the L V5800 Multi Monitor Platform with the addition of the LV58SER02 Eye Pattern Option. The L V58SER02 provides eye pattern displays and measurements in accordance with SMPTE recommended practices (phase detection method). HD-SDI, SD-SDI as well as DVB-ASI signals can be monitored. Depending on configuration, up to 6 sources can be monitored for level, rise time, fall time and jitter. The instrument allows for the setting of thresholds and can autonomously monitor feeds and produce an error log with alarm when the thresholds are violated.

Various Eye Pattern displays, SMPTE recommended filters and automatic as well as cursor measurements provide the essential tools for jitter measurement. Additional software options allow for further jitter analysis. A jitter output is provided for use with a spectrum analyzer.

c. L V58SER20 DVI-I Output; Option 20

The L V58SER20 DVI-I Output option equips the L V5800 Multi Monitor Platform with a DVI-I output suitable to drive XGA computer displays a~ panels. With this option, the LV5800 becomes a "rasterizer". Screens and information shown on the built-in L V5800 display_ can be output to any compatible XGA display device using the LV58SER20 DVI-I Output option.

d. LV58SER40 AES/EBU Input/Output; Option 40

The LV58SER40 AES/EBU Input/Output option provides 4 pairs (8 channels) of AES/EBU inputs OR outputs (menu selectable).

When in the "Output Mode" the selected video source is disembedded and output as discreet pairs of AES/EBU (either group of 8 channels can be selected). When in the "Input Mode" discreet pairs of AES/EBU can be sent to the LV5800 Multi Monitor Platform for display and analysis.

Digital audio from SD or HD groups (1 & 2) or (3 & 4) or external AES/EBU is displayed as 3: 1, 3:2, and 3:2:2 surround images, multi-lissajous and 8-Ch bargraphs. The bargraphs have selectable dynamic ranges and peak or average display ballistics. Remapping of the assignable channel order as required allows users to create custom displays.

In addition to AES/EBU input and output functions, the L V58SER40 also provides a headphone monitoring output where any 2 channels can be output for monitoring/listening purposes.
