2005 Lions Rugby Tour Graphics Driven By Inscriber Inca RTX
WATERLOO, Ontario — Inscriber Technology Corporation , a division of Leitch Technology Corporation (TSX: LTV) and a leading global provider of SD/HD solutions for professional digital video, announced today that the 2005 British and Irish Lions Rugby Tour graphics originating from New Zealand are driven by Inscriber Inca RTX(tm).

The British and Irish Lions, a touring group featuring the best rugby union players from England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales, are touring New Zealand June 4 – July 9. Auckland-based software company, Kiwi International Digital Systems, (KIDS), is using Leitch’s Inscriber Inca RTX to supply the graphics for BSkyB’s coverage of the event.

“The Lions Rugby Tour is a hugely popular sporting event in New Zealand and for British and Irish viewers. When we won the contract to supply graphics in New Zealand for BSkyB of London, we needed a graphics system that would deliver exceptional results,” explains Graham Veitch, chief executive of Kiwi International Digital Systems (KIDS). “Inscriber Inca RTX was the obvious choice since it offered such a wide range of graphic capabilities that we could easily customize to meet our specific needs. We gained access to real-time 3D-effects and could easily transfer over work we had created in other programs such as After Effects(R), Flash(R) and 3ds max(R). Inscriber graphics are incredible and really add to the viewing experience.”

Inca RTX is the most flexible and capable real-time 2D/3D graphics, video and animation platform available. Inca RTX is used to create custom broadcast applications such as up-to-the minute data displays for sports scores, timing and statistics or for covering live on location events.

Randy Fowlie, vice president of Digital Media for Leitch remarked, “We are pleased that our graphics products are associated with a prestigious event such as the Lions Rugby Tour. Inca RTX provided KIDS with the capability to deliver innovative graphics to enhance the viewers' experience of this popular event.”
