ENCO Announces use of DADtv in NEP Production Trucks for ESPN Monday Night Football Broadcasts

Southfield, Michigan, Sep. 8, 2006: ENCO Systems Inc., a leading worldwide provider of Digital Audio Delivery Systems, announced that DADtv is being installed in NEP’s Supershooter 25 Broadcast Production Truck in support of ESPN’s Monday Night Football broadcasts.

DADtv is a packaged configuration of ENCO’s popular DAD digital audio playout and automation system targeted for HDTV production. DADtv is used in HDTV production to address new demands for multichannel audio, multiple audio program streams and improved audio workflow.

Dave Turner, Executive Vice President of Engineering at ENCO states: “We have found that DADtv is a tremendous advantage to broadcasters wanting to improve their audio workflow for HDTV broadcasts. Not only does DADtv provide native support of HDTV’s 5.1 surround sound audio standard, it also provides critical rights reporting logs and effectively manages multiple audio streams for a single program.

These have all become important issues for our major network customers.” NEP’s installation of DADtv in a Supershooter brings these expanded audio capabilities to field production for the first time. According to George Hoover, NEP’s Senior VP of Engineering : “ We needed to include flexibility to create different program audio for domestic and international broadcasts of Monday Night Football. DADtv ideally met these requirements in a small equipment footprint, well suited for our Supershooter application. As demand for live HD production grows, we continue to add the latest state-ofthe- art capabilities to our high def equipment packages”.

DADtv is a packaged configuration of ENCO’s powerful DAD digital audio delivery solution, tailored to the most demanding requirements of live television broadcasting. Software and hardware are configured to support applications for control room, edit suite and server /library management. A variety of hard and soft user interface options give broadcasters outstanding flexibility in meeting their needs. Options are available to automate ingestion of outside audio material and audio libraries can also be accessible via internet or intranet from remote production sites or other locations. DADtv is widely used in fast paced or live productions ranging from sports, news and talk show, to comedy and variety.
