 | Adtec Equipment shines at The Beach Channel
Nashville, Tenn.-- Miami-based media services provider, Onboard Media, recently installed Adtec Digital Soloist 2 Broadcast MPEG 2 players and Duet Ad Insertion devices for operation of The Beach Channel, a new 24-hour, visitor channel found on Atlantic Broadband channel 19.
“We’ve reinvented the visitor channel model and constructed it to broadcast quality,” Onboard Director, Lee Hoffman, said. “It’s piped into 13,000 hotel rooms and 80,000 homes across the Miami Beach area.”
Content broadcast on The Beach Channel includes local entertainment, attractions and restaurant recommendations, highlights of influential community personalities, real estate development, quirky tourist makeovers and a celebration of Miami Beach architecture and landscape.
Adtec’s Soloist 2 is broadcasting content for the channel into Miami Beach homes while Adtec’s Duet is inserting content into hotel networks.
“Adtec’s products are working efficiently and fit our business model perfectly since we broadcast constantly changing content,” Hoffman said.
Onboard is able to upload content to the headend and administer and schedule remotely.
“It hasn’t been necessary set foot at Atlantic Broadband to load new content for a long time,” Hoffman said.
“The Adtec solution is ideal for The Beach Channel because it virtually eliminates ‘sneakernet’,” Adtec Cable and Broadcast Sales Manager, Scott Pierce, said. “The Adtec solution also makes it possible for The Beach Channel to do zoned advertising, whether city-wide or tailored to one specific hotel.”
