 | DVEO to Introduce Next Generation Low Latency, High Definition Transport Stream Encoder
San Diego, CA -- DVEO , the broadcast division of CMI, is now shipping the latest version of their popular low latency HD encoder. DVEO will demonstrate NCoder HD II at the NAB (National Association of Broadcasters) Show in Las Vegas, April 20-23, in Booth SU4908. NCoder HD II is an MPEG-2 transport stream encoder with HD-SDI or HDMI input and simultaneous DVB-ASI and IP output.
This next generation version of DVEO’s best-selling NCoder HD™ accepts HD-SDI or HDMI input. It is less than half the size of the previous encoder, and sells for 25 percent less. The system features MPEG-2 4:2:2 or 4:2:0 video compression at 15 to 100 megabits per second.
The stand alone, rackmountable unit accepts 1080i, 1080p, and 720p HD. It is the world’s first 1080p/60 real time MPEG-2 encoder – it encodes 1920 x 1080 @ 59.94 fps.
NCoder HD II is ideal for applications that need low latency but still require high definition, such as electronic news gathering (ENG), videoconferencing, military surveillance, and HD content sharing.
Laszlo Zoltan, Sales Manager for DVEO, noted, “Many customers use the NCoder HD II in stadiums to broadcast live video on in-house televisions. The low latency ensures that there is very little delay between the video and the action on the playing field. With the addition of HDMI input, broadcasters and content providers can use low cost HDMI cameras to encode the video to DVB-ASI and IP.”
The NCoder HD II can be configured via web-based management or front panel controls. The system is also available with an optional recorder function.
