|  The NK family now includes 3Gb/s capable 144 x144 (pictured) and 288 x 288 SD/HD/3G SDI large-format video routers.  3G Routing Switchers Launched by Codan Broadcast (Adelaide, 4-Sept-08) Codan Broadcast proudly announces expansion of their NK Series family of routing switchers. The family now includes 3Gb/s capable 144 x144 and 288 x 288 SD/HD/3G SDI large-format video routers. On show at IBC will be the NK-3G144 featuring a 10RU universal frame housing up to 144 inputs and outputs, along with dual redundant power supplies, matrix, and control cards, all hot-swappable. The frame can be populated from 8 x 8 I/O, upgradable in groups of 8, second copies of 32 outputs duplicated within the frame. Users can use these duplicated outputs for any purpose, but the most likely application is signal monitoring. Optimal performance whether routing SD, HD (1.485Gb/s) or 1080p (3Gb/s) signals is guaranteed through the use of the latest 3Gb/s components, equalising inputs and re-clocking outputs. “In addressing the demand for large scale multi-definition video routing to compliment the already successful NK Series product range, Codan Broadcast engineers have utilised the latest advances in chip technology to ensure a seamless migration path to emerging 3Gb/s broadcast standards, “ explained Charles Nesbitt, General Manager, Operations at Codan Broadcast. As with existing NK series devices, connection of the new 3Gb/s routers is via the distributed T-Bus control system for easy integration into existing NK Series systems, with control options including NK Series control panels, RS232 automation, GPIs and Phoenix Control Surface software. “We are very happy to be able to offer our customers this state of the art equipment,” noted Justin Adams, Codan Broadcast’s General Manager, Sales & Marketing. “These products are our answer to customers’ needs. With this range of features and price points our 3G product range will provide tremendous competition to other router manufacturers.” |
