| Performance-engineered ProPatch MUSA for Digital and HDTV [8 November 2005] New from ADC Krone is the world’s first 2.4GHz true 75 Ohm MUSA coax panel range for digital and HD applications. With an insertion loss of a mere –0.07dB @ 2.3GHz and a return loss better then –17dB, also at 2.4GHz, the jacks are rated for 10,000 insertions/withdrawals. Mechanically superior to all other MUSA-style panels on the market, the ProPatch MUSA series use moulded panels which are far more durable than the conventional phenolic milled-drilled variety. Uniquely, the jacks slot together in a patented “dovetail” mounting system which means that any single jack can be easily removed without having to disassemble all jacks or remove the panel from the rack. So there is no disturbance to other in-service links. ProPatch MUSA is available in 1, 1.5, 2 and 4 rack unit sizes and comes configured as 2x24 (2 rows x 24 jacks), 2x26, 4x24, 4x26, 6x24 and 6x26. They are also available in monitor plus signal configurations as 3x24 or 3x26. 75 Ohms (+0/-3 Ohms) is achieved by using totally solderless construction for the jacks, plugs and U-links with all of the RF component parts shaped and tuned for impedance accuracy - hence the excellent insertion and return loss performance. ProPatch MUSA panels are available in a range of colours to enable engineers to visually distinguish PAL, SECAM, NTSC, Digital Audio, Digital Video or HDTV from each other. In line with all ADC KRONE connectivity solutions, labelling is a key feature and so the ProPatch MUSA exhibits extra large designation strips. |
