Duplication Systems
Duplication is task that has been around as long as recorded media. Duplicators simplify that task by typically allowing more than
one simultaneous copy to be made, or by automating the creation of multiple copies. Things to consider include quantity, speed, media and compatibility with existing workflows.
Obviously, you can't duplicate DVDs on a USB duplication system. At the same time, depending on expectations, it might make sense to ensure the maximum size a USB will be able to handle. Can firmware be upgraded? For DVD duplication, what about the labels? Can they be burned in? Is it a full color printer? Is it networkable so that labels can be easily downloaded?
Like printers, duplicators come in a significant variety of sizes, features and capacities. While manufacturer literature is a good starting point, when it comes to speed, cost of ink, and workflow integration, nothing works as well as an in-house demo or trial period. |
