Broadcast Buyers Guide
Founded in 2003, Broadcast Buyers Guide is an independent online product and company
resource. Broadcast Buyers Guide's mission is to provide accurate, up-to-date
information with a wealth of detail found in no other single location.
Steve Epstein, the editor-in-chief, has been in television and radio engineering
for more than 30 years. He holds a BS in Broadcasting, and is SBE-certified (CPBE).
He is the former Chairman of SBE Chapter 59 (Kansas City), and has been Chief and Asst.
Chief Engineer at numerous television stations. He has also provided consulting
to and worked at various radio stations.
Steve is currently part of CenturyLink's IPTV Engineering team, building
a nationwide IPTV distribution system. Using Microsoft's MediaRoom middleware and (primarily) Alcatel
networking products, they are distributing MPEG-4 compressed video over twisted
pair to tens of thousands of homes.
In addition to Steve's hand's-on technical expertise, he has nearly 10 years
technical writing and editing experience. He was the technical editor of several
Primedia publications including Broadcast Engineering and Video Systems. Steve
is available for freelance assignments including consulting, editing and writing.
Within the last few years, Steve's ghost-written articles have been published in
Broadcast Engineering, Mission Critical Communications, as well as convention
proceedings for the NAB and the IBC.
